Click on the "Google Map"
link wherever you see it to be taken to a Google Maps page which contains most EWCC
rally locations.
The first page will look something like this.

In your Google Maps window, click on one of the place names in
the LH column and an information bubble appears. In the bubble click on More...
then select Zoom Here. This what you see if you selected Horley Scout Camp.

If you click on the Satellite button in the upper RH corner, and
then zoom again...

Do you know about Google Street View? Click on the More...
button again and select Street View. The picture changes to that which you can
see from the point on the map where you are. Click and move the picture to
change the angle you are viewing, and you get this image of the gate into Horley
Scout Camp.

If you've seen enough photos and want to go back to the overhead
maps or satellite pictures, click on the X in the top of the picture.
Occasionally, we rally on a site where it is important to
approach along a particular road. Honington is one of these. The recommended
approach route is stored in Google Maps too. Click on the Honington Approach
Route link in the column of rally site names. The blue line shows the route from
Halford.

You can even use Google Maps to provide directions from where you
are to where you want to be. However, we caravanners like a nice wide road and
Google Maps may not appreciate that when suggesting a route. It is for this
reason that you must be aware of the following. The location shown in these maps
is not guaranteed to be exactly that of the rally location. The positions have
been provided either from personal knowledge or by comparison of rally book
instructions against maps. Remember that your Rally Book contains the definitive
directions. The route that Google Maps may provide for you is entirely
independent of the EWCC and this website and may not be suitable for your
outfit. The East Warwickshire Centre and it's Committee do not accept any
responsibility for the accuracy of the locations, the routes provided, or any
problems you may have resulting from the use of the maps.
If you notice an error in any location, or can suggest an
accuracy improvement or recommend a route, please let me know. |
