BOOKING
The first few rallies of 2012 can now be booked online, just
click the link on the Rallies index page. This is a free service and we are
limited in how many bookings we may make per month. For this reason, I've
limited the number available straight away. More rallies will become available
for booking in February and March.

Service at St Margarets Church in Whitnash at 1.30pm. If any members
remember my Dad and want to attend the church service they will be

14th March 2011 MEALSINFIELDS.CO.UK
I've been introduced to an interesting website which aims to
become the biggest resource for cooking in restricted kitchens. It offers a
choice of quick to prepare, easy to cook meals. All recipes are based on locally
sourced, fresh produce. The site also aims to build a reference of shops,
restaurants etc, along with sites that you could visit in the area.

6th February 2011 ONLINE BOOKING
SUCCESS STORY
You've all enjoyed using the online booking system throughout
most of January, to the extent that I had to ask you to "go gently" on it as we
were very close to exceeding our monthly allowance! I had used some of that
allowance for system testing, but you made over seventy bookings online
during three weeks of January!

Due to unavailability of the Skittle Alley at the intended

room which does have a dart board and a bar!

2nd December 2010 STRATFORD UPON
AVON RALLY CANCELLED - PARTY MOVED
Due to the current extended cold weather we've all been
experiencing, the management at Stratford Upon Avon Racecourse have decided to
cancel our rally there this weekend. Please do not turn up as there is NO RALLY
and you risk being turned away at the gate.
The children's Christmas party that was due to be held at
Stratford will now be held at the Nether Whitacre Rally from 28th to 30th
January 2011. Rally/Party bookings will not be transferred automatically - you
will need to contact the Rally Officers for Nether Whitacre.

1st December 2010 WHAT'S THE
WEATHER GOING TO BE LIKE
That's a question we all ask before a rally... not that it
makes a difference as to whether we go or not, but we might like to know how
many jumpers we'll need! If you have a look at the last few rallies of 2010 on
the rallies list you'll see clouds have
appeared. Click on one of them to see the weather close to where the rally is.
Please let me know if you want this feature for the 2011 rally list.

13th July 2010 CHARITY NEWS
Go to The Gallery for a link to new
pictures of our brave Nuns and Schoolgirls/Mistress on their adventures around
Northamptonshire, all in aid of the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air
Ambulance. Two teams of ladies accepted the challenge to be dropped in a town
some 40-50 miles away with minimal funds and a sense of adventure. They had to
find their way back using the kindness of others, and hopefully collecting a few
donations along the way. It's still not too late to donate.
The total amount
collected was £194.41 - a good amount considering the girls were on the move all
the while.
The sharp eyed amongst you will notice the
amount has changed. This error was due to typo's out of my control.

7th July 2010 NEW CENTRE BOULES &
BRICK THROWING CHAMPIONS
After a gruelling 4-5 hours of play, Mr Andy Dougan was
victorious in the adults Boules tournament, whilst Tom Greene took the teens
championship. Click here for the tournament results.
In the brick throwing, Claire Scott managed the longest ladies
throw, Rob Penny rolled the furthest men's throw and Tom Greene put us both to
shame with the longest overall throw. High quality trophies were presented to all
winners.

10th June 2010
CYCLING ON THE RALLY FIELD
The introduction of the Haslam trophy has led to an increase in
the use of cycles on the field, especially by the children. Some of this has
been around caravans, with the attendant risk of injury to the child, and damage
to caravans should an accident occur.
Can we please ask parents to ensure that children do not cycle
close to the caravan lines. This is in accordance with Rule 8 of the "Rules and
information for rallies", which you will find in your copy of the rally book.
Thank you for your co-operation, it is very much appreciated.

|
10th June 2010
TOWING MIRRORS
Do you use towing mirrors? If you don't you may well be breaking
the law. Towing mirrors are a
legal requirement if your caravan is wider than your car, as the law states that
when towing a caravan you must have adequate view of the rear of the car and
along both sides of your caravan.
When you are towing, your
caravan makes it impossible to use your car's rear view mirror, therefore you
will need some towing mirrors. Your mirrors for towing must not project more
than 200mm beyond the widest part of your car or caravan. Although for any cars
sold after 26th January 2007 this is now 250mm.
It is also a legal
requirement that any caravan mirror must be type approved and e-marked.

A number of EWCC members bought raffle tickets supporting
WHEELPOWER, in association with the Kilworth Challenge. Two of our number were
lucky enough to win prizes! Shaun & Sharron Jacques won a Digital Photo Frame,
whilst Jackie & Mick Greene won tickets to West Midlands Safari Park. That shiny
black car will look good with the monkeys hanging off it!
